Logo

When you saw our logo for the first time, what did you see? Everyone perceives things differently and we would love to know. It is super interesting what our imagination comes up with. At the same time, you maybe have been wondering what we see in our logo. That is why we wanted to fill you in.

When we decided to call this travel journal “One Second” we asked one of our good friends, Marion, for help. We met her in Biarritz (France) while working for Label Park. We basically just gave her our name and let her creative mind wander off. When we saw the concept of the half circle, we immediately knew that this will be our future logo.

When we see the logo we think of a sunrise/sunset, open for interpretation 😉 The sunrise/sunset is a perfectly matching metaphor for our name. You probably have experienced the exact same feeling yourself, while watching a beautiful sunrise/sunset. You are sitting on top of a mountain, or a beach, or the savannah or just from your apartment window and you wait for that one second where the sun finally reveals itself or disappears completely. There is huge anticipation for this one second and it is one of these moments where you are really present.

Too often we only enjoy these simple & beautiful things on our holidays, because we finally got the time to slow down a bit. This is a shame, because shouldn’t we celebrate every sunrise & sunset? Every day is a blessing and we should live by it and enjoy this limited time that we have on earth, not only on holidays. We, therefore, think that the logo is a perfect visualization of being present in this one second.

Oliver & Paulyne

So we want to give our gratitude to Marion, who inspired us with her creative mind and made this minimalistic, beautiful logo possible. Thank you! If you should ever be in need of a great and unique logo design, feel free to contact her here.

P.S. Fun fact: Obviously everyone immediately has a flashback of a specific sunrise/sunset witnessed when seeing a picture of a sunrise/sunset. For Oli, it was the intro scene of the Lion King, the movie that started it all. (find out how the movie influenced Oli’s life, here). For Paulyne, it’s the sunrises/sunsets that she is observing from the aircraft window. At this moment of the flight when almost everybody is sleeping and everything is so quiet, at this moment you feel so far away from everything happening down there (check her biography to know more about her).
